Frequently Asked Questions

How do I heal from narcissistic abuse?

We will begin by assessing where you are at .. are you in early stage, mid or late stage of healing yourself from being exposed to a pathological narcissist ( Cluster B personality disorder).

We will heal critical incidents and then look back into your family of origin to see where this all started.

The healing is client-centered and at your own pace.

Does therapy from narcissistic abuse work?

It does. And like anything, the effort you put into therapy will be what you get out of it.

Therapy is a process.  Especially if you have been exposed to narcissistic abuse.  Your brain has been injured and it takes a while to heal it as well as build in new tools and techniques for living a healthy and authentic life.

Therapy is the best investment for life to be better!

How does Psychotherapy differ from Psychiatry and Psychology?

Psychotherapy engages you in talk therapy to improve your quality of life, satisfaction in relationships, functioning in society, performance at work, and general health and well-being. It is the treatment of mental, emotional, body and/or spiritual issues by talking rather than using medicine or drugs.

Psychology is the study the human mind and its functions, especially those affecting behaviour in a given context.

Psychiatry is the study and treatment of mental illness, emotional disturbance, and abnormal behaviour.

But if you are healing from Narcissistic Abuse, it only matters that your therapist understands this personality disorder and the classic, identifiable behaviours that hurt their targets.

What is Spiritual Psychotherapy and how does it differ from other types of therapy?

Spiritual Psychotherapy recognizes we are both human and spiritual beings holistically interconnected through body, mind and soul. It incorporates the intuitive part of each of us, the Observer self, and gives it a voice.   Spiritual psychotherapy helps us be in tune with our inner self and broaden our awareness to the whole of us.

What about confidentiality?

All information shared in the therapeutic process is confidential.  This will be discussed further in our first meeting.

When will I see results?

The length of time is different for everyone.  You will know when you feel differently.  Committing to the process and allowing it to evolve will be the fist step, results will follow. My best practice is to help you realize when you have completed your process and to help you with closure.

Do I have to discuss my early childhood?

Only if we feel it’s important in addressing the issues you bring to the table.  Often patterns occur due to childhood experiences.  Sometimes it’s worth exploring the early years to understand what is going on today.  It is entirely up to you whether you wish to discuss your early childhood or not.
