About Martha

Clinical expertise with depth, discernment, and boundaries...
Martha Digby Registered Psychotherapist

I am a Registered Psychotherapist (CRPO) focusing exclusively in the treatment of narcissistic abuse and complex relational trauma.

For over a decade, my clinical work has focused on supporting individuals who have experienced:

  • Psychological and emotional abuse
  • Gaslighting and coercive control
  • Trauma bonding
  • Identity erosion and chronic self-doubt
  • High conflict and post-separation abuse

This is a highly specialized area of psychotherapy that requires advanced training, strong clinical containment, and nuanced understanding of power, manipulation and trauma responses. It also requires lived experience.

Why Specialization Matters:

Survivors are often:

  • Misdiagnosed
  • Invalidated or subtly blamed
  • Encouraged to “communicate better” rather than stabilize trauma
  • Left feeling more confused and unsafe

My work is grounded in understanding that your reactions are adaptive responses to prolonged psychological threat.

Training & Professional Background

My clinical work integrates:

  • Brainspotting (advanced neuroexperiential trauma treatment)
  • EMDR (evidence-based trauma reprocessing)
  • Attachment-informed psychotherapy
  • Trauma-focused cognitive approaches
  • Extensive psychoeducation specific to narcissistic abuse dynamics

Therapeutic Philosophy

I believe:

  • Healing happens through safety, clarity, and containment
  • Clients are not broken, they are injured
  • Insight alone is insufficient for trauma recovery
  • Ethical therapy restores autonomy, not dependency

My role is not to fix or rescue you, nor to direct your life, but to provide specialized clinical support so you can regain internal authority and stability.

Professional Ethics

My practice is grounded in:

  • Informed consent
  • Client autonomy
  • Clear boundaries
  • Trauma-informed ethics
  • CRPO standards of practice

Clients are supported in making their own decisions about pacing, duration, and continuation of therapy.
